Daria vs Recap Raven
Recap Raven cites its receipts. So does Daria.
Of everything on this list, Recap Raven is the closest to Daria in conviction: that an answer about your campaign is worthless unless you can go and check it.
See everything Daria does →What Recap Raven is
A Discord-native campaign memory that records every speaker on their own track while you play, and returns a player-safe recap, private GM notes and a session report minutes after you stop. Every session can join a campaign memory you question later, with cited receipts back to the transcript. It also produces spotlight analytics, hooks and prep material.
What it says about its own limits
- Recap Raven deletes raw audio after transcription, and says there is no way to download audio back out of the service.
- Recap Raven says MCP access and campaign memory are unavailable on its Free and Recap Only plans.
What Recap Raven is genuinely good at
- Spotlight analytics. Talk time, words and turns by speaker, spotlight balance across the campaign, and a read on table energy — the most developed screen-time reporting of any tool here, answering a question good GMs ask themselves constantly and cannot otherwise measure.
- The player-safe/GM split as two separate documents, so nothing has to be redacted by hand.
- Cited receipts — the same discipline Daria holds to.
- Per-speaker tracks and a turnaround measured in minutes after you stop.
Where Daria differs
She records tables that are not on Discord. Open the recording page on a laptop or phone at a physical table and Daria captures the room, separates the voices out of that one track, and asks you to name each speaker once. She also imports sessions recorded elsewhere — Craig links, where each player arrives on their own pre-separated track, Zoom recordings, audio files up to 2GB, Crit Scribbler exports. Recap Raven takes a pasted Craig link as well.
She can read your dice. The optional Foundry module puts rolls, spell casts, item uses and conditions into the transcript at the moment they happened, with whispered, blind and self-rolls filtered inside Foundry and chat messages never sent.
Both are MCP servers. Recap Raven exposes campaign memory over MCP too, to Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini — the difference is where it sits in each product, not whether it exists. Daria is an MCP server for every campaign, so your assistant can search sessions, characters, lore and canon directly, with sources.
And the session comes back illustrated. Artwork of the moments that mattered, painted from what actually happened, with characters staying recognisable between pictures because they are painted from the descriptions you registered. A DM who would rather have none of it turns automatic art off in settings.
