D&D 5e

Daria for D&D 5e

The system most tables play, and the one Daria understands in the most detail — from the spell your wizard cast three months ago to the name of the innkeeper nobody wrote down.

A 5e campaign runs for years. Somewhere in year two, someone asks who the party promised the crown to, and four people remember four different answers. Daria records each session, writes a recap the same evening, and keeps every word searchable, so the answer is a question away rather than an argument.

Proper nouns are where transcription usually falls apart, and 5e has a lot of them. Register your characters with /character, and add the places, gods and homebrew items to your campaign glossary — anyone at the table can. Daria is handed all of it before she transcribes a word, so she stops hearing "Elandar" as "a lander" and the names land the way you spell them.

Homebrew rules, a subclass you wrote, a two-page handout the party keeps losing: upload them with /upload_doc and they answer questions alongside the transcripts.

If you play on Foundry VTT

The Daria module writes your rolls into the transcript at the moment they happened, and 5e is the system it reads most closely: alongside the roll and its result, it picks up spell casts with the slot level, item and feature uses, and who was targeted. So the recap can say a fireball went off at 5th level while the rogue was still in the blast, not merely that dice were rolled.

How a session becomes a record

Questions about D&D 5e

Does Daria need to know the 5e rules?

No, and she never reads them. She writes down that your wizard cast fireball and what happened next — she does not check the slot, the save DC or whether it was legal. Adjudicating the rules stays at your table, where it belongs.

Does she work with the 2024 rules as well as 2014?

Both, and she cannot tell them apart — which is the point. Because she never consults a rulebook, an edition change is not something she has to be updated for.

Can Daria track initiative, hit points or the battle map?

No. She is the record of your session, not a combat tracker: Foundry or your DM screen stays in charge of the fight. What she gives you afterwards is what was said, what happened, and the ability to ask about it a year later.
