Privacy Policy
Daria records tabletop roleplaying sessions, transcribes them and summarises them. This page says what data is processed, why, who receives it, how long it is kept, and what your rights are.
This document is published in French and English. The French version is the original. The English version is a translation: where the two differ, the French version applies.
Who we are
The controller is Maxime Bertheau, Sole trader (entrepreneur individuel, EI), 2 Place Jean V, Bureau 3, 44000 Nantes, France (SIREN 130 516 255, RCS Nantes). For any question or request about your data, write to hello@daria.gg.
The data we process
- Your account. Your Discord ID, name and avatar, the list of Discord servers you belong to, which decides the campaigns you can open, and, when you sign in to the web app, your Discord account’s email address.
- Recorded sessions. The voices and Discord IDs of the people recorded — in a voice channel, through a browser’s microphone or in an imported recording — and what Daria makes from them: transcripts, summaries, media and the rest of the campaign’s content.
- What you give Daria. The campaign’s context and documents, your questions, your characters’ descriptions and reference pictures and, if the GM connects Foundry VTT, the game’s events.
- Your subscriptions and purchases. What Discord tells us about them. Your payment details stay with Discord.
- Technical data. IP address, access logs, error reports, usage events and site statistics.
Your Discord profile is needed to have an account; everything else is up to you. If you are recorded without having an account, your data comes from the person who started the recording and from Discord.
Why, and on what legal basis
- Providing the service to you — running your account, carrying out your commands, answering your questions, running the web app and the MCP server. Basis: the contract formed by the terms of service (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- Recording, transcribing and summarising sessions. For the person who starts the recording, the basis is the contract. For everyone else present, it is the table’s legitimate interest in keeping a record of its game, and ours in making that possible (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Generating media — character portraits or session illustrations, for instance — from descriptions, reference pictures and the sessions’ content. Basis: the contract, for the person who asks for them; for the rest of the table, its legitimate interest in illustrating its game.
- Running and securing Daria — logs, error reports, measures against abuse. Basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the service and the people who use it.
- Measuring use and improving Daria — statistics, usage events, and review of conversations and sessions by our team and by AI models, to assess the quality of what Daria produces. Basis: our legitimate interest in knowing what is used and in improving the service.
- Meeting our legal obligations. Basis: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
Daria trains no AI model on your data.
How long we keep it
- Campaign content — recordings, transcripts, summaries, media, documents: for as long as the campaign exists, or until we are asked to delete it.
- Your account: until you ask us to delete it.
- Technical data: for as long as it takes to run the service, secure it and improve it.
Your rights
You can access your data, have it corrected or erased, have its processing restricted, receive it in a reusable format, and set instructions for what happens to it after your death.
To exercise these rights, write to hello@daria.gg. We check through your Discord account that the request comes from you, and we answer within a month. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
Your right to object
You can object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to what we do on the basis of our legitimate interest: recording a session and what Daria makes from it, measuring use, and improving Daria. Write to hello@daria.gg: we stop the processing that concerns you, unless we have compelling grounds to continue or need the data for legal claims. Where we cannot yet stop it for you alone — as with your voice in a recording and the usage statistics tied to your account — we delete the session concerned or your account.
During a session, you can also leave the voice channel, or ask the person recording to stop.
