/record puts Daria in your voice channel. She says nothing, records each player on a separate track, and stops when you tell her to.

Separate tracks are the part that matters, and they are the part a single room microphone cannot give you. When six people talk over a critical hit — which is exactly when the good line gets said — one mixed recording produces one unreadable sentence. Six tracks produce six readable ones, and the transcript keeps who said which.
The names in that transcript are your characters, not Discord usernames. Daria maps each track to the character registered with /character, so a recap reads “Fenwick bargains with the seer” rather than a handle somebody picked in 2017 and has been stuck with since.
A recording survives what an evening actually does to it. /pause covers dinner, a rules argument, or the twenty minutes of spoiler talk that must not end up in the recording, and /resume picks it back up in the same session. A player who drops and rejoins keeps their own track.

/stopTranscription starts immediately. Each line is attributed to the character who said it, and the recap follows within minutes.
