How do I add Daria to my Discord server?+
Not yet — Daria is in closed beta and not open to the public. Join the community server and you will be pinged the day she is. When that happens, adding her is one authorization from this site, done by anyone with permission to add bots to your server.
Do my players need to install or sign up for anything?+
No. Your players install nothing, create no account and learn no commands — they sit in the voice channel and play. Only the person who runs /record does anything at all.
Does everyone have to be in the Discord voice channel?+
To be recorded on Discord, yes — Daria hears the voice channel she is sitting in, and someone talking elsewhere is not in the recording. If your table plays in the same room instead, she records that just as well: open the app on a laptop or a phone and record the room through its microphone.
Can I use Daria if we play in person?+
Yes. When your table meets in person, open the recording page on whatever laptop or phone sits at the table and Daria records the room through the browser — no Discord voice needed that night. She separates the voices out of that single track, you name them once afterwards, and the session goes through the same pipeline as any other: recap, scenes, artwork, search.
Can I bring in sessions recorded before I found Daria?+
Yes. Bring your archive: import Craig and Zoom recordings, plain audio files (a phone memo, an OBS mix — MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG or WebM, up to 2GB), even CritScribbler transcript exports. Past sessions get the full treatment — transcription, recap, scenes, searchable memory — and take their place in the campaign timeline.
Recording and privacy
Who can listen to our recordings?+
The members of your campaign’s Discord server. Sessions are scoped to the server they were recorded in, so somebody who is not a member cannot open them, and everything is stored in the EU. The audio also passes through the services that transcribe and summarize it, and is never published, sold, or shown to another campaign. The Daria team can too, but we want you to know this: a recording is opened only when you ask us for help with one, or when something in the pipeline broke and the audio is the only way to find out why.
Will my players know they are being recorded?+
She joins the voice channel like anyone else and stays visible for as long as she is there — nobody is recorded by something they cannot see — and she records only between /record and /stop. Telling your table what she does before the first session is still your job, and worth doing properly.
What happens to the audio after the session?+
It is kept. The transcript, the summaries and the artwork are all derived from it, and keeping it is what allows a session to be transcribed again as Daria gets better at it. It stays in the EU, scoped to your campaign.
Can I delete a session?+
Ask and we will delete it, along with everything made from it. Today that is a message in the community server rather than a button in the dashboard — deleting a session yourself is not built yet.
Does Daria record when we are not playing?+
No. She records between /record and /stop and at no other time. If somebody forgets to stop her, she stops herself after six hours, warning the channel thirty, fifteen and five minutes beforehand.
What you get
What do I actually get after a session?+
A recap card in your Discord channel once processing finishes, and in the dashboard: the full transcript, a written summary, the session broken into scenes, and artwork of the moments that mattered.
How does Daria know who said what?+
On Discord every player is recorded on their own track, so it is never a guess. For a room captured through one microphone — a table in person, or a file you imported — she separates the voices and asks you to name each one once, then uses your characters’ names from there.
How accurate is the transcription?+
Excellent out of the box — and unlike a generic transcriber, it gets sharper the longer you play. Invented names are the hard part of any TTRPG recording, so Daria is told yours in advance: register your party with /character, and add the places, gods and homebrew items your table keeps saying to the campaign glossary in the dashboard. Every one of those goes to the transcriber before it hears a single word, so your world comes back spelled the way you spell it. The whole party can add terms, not just the GM — the people who invented a name are the ones who know how it goes.
What languages does Daria work in?+
English, French, Spanish and German. Transcription, the summaries and Daria’s own replies all follow the language set for your server.
How does the artwork work — do I have to write prompts?+
No prompts. After each session Daria picks the moments worth painting and paints them, using what actually happened at your table. Characters stay recognizable between pictures because you register them once with /character, and she paints from that description every time.
Can I turn off the AI-generated art?+
Yes — and we understand if generated art is not your table’s thing. A DM can switch it off in the web app under Settings, and Daria then stops drawing on her own: no session banners, no scene stills, no highlight video, and no portraits for characters she picks up herself. Pictures somebody explicitly asks for with /generate_image still work, so the choice stays yours picture by picture.
Systems and tools
Which game systems does Daria support?+
All of them. Daria listens to your table rather than to a rulebook — she never needs to know how a spell works in order to write down that you cast it. D&D 5e, Daggerheart and Pathfinder 2e have pages of their own because there is something specific to say about each; every other system works exactly the same way.
Do I need Foundry VTT?+
No. Foundry is optional and nothing depends on it. The module exists so your dice appear in the transcript at the moment they were rolled, which lets a recap say which roll decided the fight.
What does the Foundry module send to Daria?+
Dice rolls, spell casts, item uses and conditions. Whispered, blind and self-rolls are filtered inside Foundry and never transmitted, and chat messages are never sent at all — what you have hidden behind the screen stays there. The module page lists it in full.
Does it work with Roll20 or another virtual tabletop?+
Foundry is the only virtual tabletop with a module today, and it is entirely optional — Daria records and summarizes your session whatever you play on. If your table uses something else, say so in the community server; that is how we decide what to build next.
Practical matters
What does Daria cost?+
She is in closed beta and free while she is. Pricing will be announced before she opens to the public, and the community server will hear it first.
How long can one session be?+
Six hours in a single recording. Daria warns the channel thirty, fifteen and five minutes before the end, then stops and processes everything normally — a session that runs long ends up recorded, not lost.
What happens if the connection drops mid-session?+
She tries to rejoin, several times over. A voice connection that is genuinely gone ends the recording rather than pretending otherwise: she posts a notice in your channel, and everything captured up to that point is kept.
Can I search past sessions?+
That is most of the point. Ask in Discord with /ask, or use the chat in the dashboard — both search every transcript, summary and document you have uploaded, and every answer carries links to the session and scene it came from.
Can I use my campaign from Claude or another AI assistant?+
Yes. Daria is an MCP server, so AI assistants can read your campaign directly. Connect Claude or ChatGPT once, and it can search sessions, characters, lore and canon — and answer with sources — from any device you use it on, with no copying and pasting of session notes. Setup and the full tool list are at mcp.daria.gg.
