In person
No voice channel? No problem.
Open Daria in a browser, put the laptop where everyone can be heard, and hit record. The evening runs the same pipeline as one captured over Discord.
This is the harder case, and it is worth being straight about why. Over Discord every player arrives on their own track, already separated. In a room there is one microphone and six people, so the separation has to be worked out afterwards from the audio itself — who spoke, and where one person stopped and the next began.
Which is why the transcript is not final until a human says so. Daria groups the evening into voices, plays you a sample of each, and asks the GM to put a name to it. That takes about a minute and it is the difference between a transcript that names your characters and one that says “Speaker 3” four hundred times.
The room matters more than the hardware. A laptop in the middle of the table beats a good microphone at one end of it, because the far end is what gets lost. Hard surfaces echo; a tablecloth helps more than you would think. Nobody needs to lean in or pass anything around.
Everything downstream is identical. The recap, the scene index, the artwork and the answers all come from the same pipeline — an in-person evening is a session like any other once the voices have names.
How an evening at a real table gets kept
- Start a session in the browserNo install and no app. Open the campaign on the web, choose to record in person, and give the browser permission to use the microphone.
- Play, with the laptop on the tableDaria records the room continuously and uploads as she goes, so a flat battery or a closed lid does not cost you the evening.
- Name the voicesWhen you stop, Daria has grouped the audio into distinct speakers. The GM listens to a sample of each and picks the character. This is the one step that needs a person.
- Get the same things backRecap, scene index, transcript, podcast and artwork — the same as any other session.
